JOSF Call for Editors & Peer Reviewers
2022-11-07The MOSF Journal of Science Fiction is seeking applications for new editors to start in the spring of 2023. We seek editors with an established record of expertise in science fiction studies and related fields. New editors are expected to join an editorial team committed to promoting rigorous standards in publishing and attracting top-quality research to all subfields of science fiction. As a scholar-run journal, please note that we currently rely on volunteer-based labor.
The Journal is also seeking peer reviewers on a rolling basis. We are looking for reviewers interested in academic writing on science fiction (broadly defined) to assist the editorial team’s mission to promote top-quality scholarship. An ideal peer reviewer has experience in academic fields related to, but not solely based in, science and speculative fiction study, and a willingness to provide cogent written reviews.

Journal of Science Fiction Special Issue on Young Adult Speculative Fiction
2021-06-04To highlight the importance of young adult science and speculative fictions, the Journal of Science Fiction is seeking academic articles of 5,000 to 8,000 words, short reflection pieces of 500 to 1,000 words, and book reviews of 500-750 words by August 1st, 2021 for a special issue on YA speculative fiction.

Journal of Science Fiction Special Issue on Environmental Studies Reopened [EXTENDED DEADLINE - 6/1/2020]
2020-04-16The MOSF Journal of Science Fiction is accepting submissions for a special issue on environmental studies and science fiction to be released in the summer of 2020, and has extended the submission deadline to Monday, June 1st. We have received a number of great submissions, which are currently under review, but we have decided to seek a few additional high-quality pieces for consideration as well.
